Both branches of Asphodel-Norwood Public Library (Norwood and Westwood) are open regular hours for the Provincial Step 3 Reopening Plan. Masks are still mandatory and we have a higher limited capacity, but you can browse and pick out your books. Curbside pickup will still be available at each branch. Check our flyer for more information.
If you need additional assistance, you can contact a librarian by email or telephone and we will do our best to assist you.
StoryTime – Our final two StoryTimes will be special ones at the Norwood Branch of ANPL. We will meet the first two Mondays of December at 10:30am. Bring your mask and proof of vaccination.
Gingerbread House Contest – This year, instead of a Cookie Contest, we are inviting you to create a Gingerbread House! We partnered with Oakland Greens Golf and Country Club to supply some gingerbread kits (first come, first serve) and four prizes for this contest. The contest ends December 15th so read our Gingerbread House Contest rules and get creating!
Minds in Motion – ANPL is excited to partner with the Alzheimer Society to offer their program Minds in Motion. A new session has been added that begins December 2nd, 2021. For more information, view Minds in Motion – Dec 2021. To register, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Gale in Context: Elementary – Learn about a wide variety of topics including animals, art and music, geography, health, literature, people, plants, science, social studies, sports, and technology.
World Book Online – The World Book web site offers an encyclopedia, dictionary, atlas, homework help, study aids, and curriculum guides.. Once you log in with your library card, you can access World Book Kids, World Book Student, and World Book Timelines.
eBook Public Library Collection (from EBSCOhost) – thousands of ebooks ready to be read in your browser or on your computer, no waiting.
OverDrive – An online collection of audio and e-books that can be downloaded to your device for FREE
ServiceOntario is the website to go to for all provincial government services here in Ontario. Get information on how to renew your driver’s license or health card, how to get a birth or marriage certificate, how to obtain or renew your Outdoors Card, or how to register your business. If you need help, ask a librarian.
Storytime at the Park will happen every Monday in October and November, except Thanksgiving, at the Norwood Library Courtyard at 10:30am.

Asphodel-Norwood Public Library always has great new books to books to check out – if we don’t have it, you can ask for it to be added to our suggestion list, or if it’s an older title, we may be able to borrow it from another library.

ANPL Westwood Book Club
Our Westwood Book Club is on summer vacation. The next meeting will be November 15 at 6pm at Westwood Library when we discuss I’ll be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara. Pick up a copy of the book at our Westwood branch.

Our Teen Book Club will be continuing in the new year at 6:30pm at our Norwood Branch! Email Trish to get your name on the list for updates.
We are planning to start a Family Book Club in 2022! Stay tuned for more information.
