Due to concerns about Covid 19: Both branches of Asphodel-Norwood Public Library (Norwood and Westwood) will be closed to the public until further notice. We have a new Online Catalogue to check out! You will need your library card number and a PIN (password is books).

TumbleBooks Library has graciously allowed libraries free access to their databases until the end of August. Check out some of these great resources while you can.

Welcome to a new year, and new discoveries! Asphodel-Norwood Public Library has some new e-resources lined up for this year to compliment e-resources we already have.

Ancestry Library Edition (In-library use only) – Start searching billions of records and discover your family’s story.

Global Road Warrior – the world’s most extensive country-by-country resource for learning about culture, customs, history, and language worldwide.

AtoZ World Travel –  a comprehensive travel resource with information about points of interest, security, transportation, food and recipes, culture, language, and more.

LingoLITE – uses images, text, and native speaker video to help you learn basic vocabulary in 30 languages.

World Book OnlineThe World Book web site offers an encyclopedia, dictionary, atlas, homework help, study aids, and curriculum guides.

OverDrive – An online collection of audio and e-books that can be downloaded to your device for FREE

ServiceOntario is the website to go to for all provincial government services here in Ontario. Get information on how to renew your driver’s license or health card, how to get a birth or marriage certificate, how to obtain or renew your Outdoors Card, or how to register your business. If you need help, ask a librarian.

April News

The library is still closed due to Covid 19 concerns. All programs and activities have been cancelled until further notice.

The theme for 2020 is “Create, Collaborate, Celebrate!” 

Drop by either branch of the library this month for a variety of crafts and activities, and check the calendar for some special new events!

Come in to the Norwood Branch for: Tech Help Tuesdays, Wordy Wednesdays, After-school Club Thursdays, StoryTime Friday mornings and Feelin’ Springy Saturday Crafts on Saturday afternoon.

Drop in to the Westwood Branch for: Magic Marker Mondays, Wordy Wednesdays,  Preschool Drop-in Thursday mornings, and Feelin’ Springy Saturday Crafts on Saturday morning.

Asphodel-Norwood Public Library always has great new books to books to check out – if we don’t have it, you can ask for it to be added to our suggestion list, or if it’s an older title, we may be able to borrow it from another library. Check out our Online Catalogue to search for books or check your account.

ANPL Westwood Book Club

Our Westwood Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm.

Our regularly scheduled meeting has been cancelled. Please visit us again to check for updates.

Please join us  when we are able to re-open.


KidsStuff at ANPL

There is a special reading room at OverDrive made especially for children and youth.

Try out the Kid’s Reading Room today.

And don’t forget to visit the library branches for games and crafts during any open hours.

After-school activities every Thursday from 3:45 – 4:45 pm at our Norwood Branch.

Cool activities happen every Monday evening at our Westwood Branch.

Our Norwood Branch has Pre-school Story Time every Friday morning at 10am.

Check out the Family Drop-in program at our Westwood Branch on Thursday mornings.
