Centre for Equitable Library Access
The Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) is a service that is available through the Asphodel-Norwood Public Library to provide reading materials in accessible formats to patrons with print disabilities.
Now CELA and ANPL make it possible for those with print disabilities in our community to gain easy access to a wealth of reading materials, in formats of their choice. We offer a collection of over 230,000 books, magazines, newspapers and described videos in a choice of formats.
There are a variety of choices including current bestsellers, award-winners, classics, fiction, non-fiction, self-help, and business. Books are available in audio, Braille, accessible e-books (including DAISY) for adults, young adults, and kids.
Patrons taking advantage of this service can download their books, pick them up at either Branch of the Library, or receive them by mail to their home free of charge.
Eligibility
Access to the CELA collection is available to people who are unable to read conventional print due to a disability, which includes learning, physical, and visual.
